About Dario:

Dario grew up in a single-parent home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. More specifically, the Garden District, which is one of the nicer neighborhoods. His father, Frederic (or Fred, to his friends), works as a lawyer in the Downtown area. He has no siblings. His mother died soon after he was born (though his dad never really mentions from what, just that she 'passed on'). He attended the Episcopal High School (which goes from Pre-K to 12th grade) because it was the least religious school in the Baton Rouge Parish. Dario's family isn't that religious, doesn't attend church regularly, but there are few non-parochial schools in Baton Rouge. After that, he went to University of New Orleans (UNO) and got a BFA in film.

Before Katrina hit, Dario was living in a loft in New Orleans, a few blocks away from the French Quarter. He could often be seen with his notebook and cigarette in the Cafe du Monde, drinking coffee and nibbling at a powdered donut. After the hurricane, Dario moved back to live with his father in Baton Rouge. He does his work there and sends his scripts off to various producers to try and get them published (no luck, so far). He makes trips to New Orleans to help his friends rebuild their places and get their lives back on track. It breaks his heart to see his favourite city torn apart, so he spends less time there now than he did before. The Cafe is back up and running, though, much to his relief, as is Bourbon Street and his favourite bars.

Though Dario never really knew his mother, his father insists he takes after her. She named him after horror film director Dario Argento, as horror movies had been her great passion (the gorier, the better). He got into it at a young age, and it's rather stuck with him. That's why he wants to be a horror film writer/director, if he grows up.

Dario is a very friendly guy. He'll say hi even if he doesn't know you and if he does know you, he'll probably greet you more enthusiastically. Especially if he's high. He smokes pot -- not constantly, but catching him sober is a rare event. He feels he works best when high (which, if you've seen Argento's movies, might make a lot of sense). He gives a lot of hugs and doesn't always have the best concept of personal space. However, if someone tells him to fuck off, he will. Just be firm and blunt with him, maybe give him a smack, subtleties tend to go over his head.

This is why he has trouble with girls. He has not had a relationship that has lasted more then a month. He doesn't understand the intricacies of the female psyche. Most of his relationships have ended in a huge blowup fight that is inevitably his fault because he just doesn't understand what he did wrong. The one time he tried to apologize (flowers and chocolates included), the girl threw both in his face, flipped him off, and left again. He never tried it again. (However, most of his girlfriends thought he was pretty decent in bed.) Pretty firmly heterosexual, though there was that time or two when he and his friends decided to try mushrooms. But we don't like to count that.

He's a smoker, if he goes more than a few hours without a cigarette, he gets fidgety and taps his fingers against his lips. Well, really, he has an oral fixation. Whatever's handy -- pen, finger (or fingernail), pencil, cigarette, joint, the ends of his hair -- it gets sucked or chewed on. Not always good when it isn't his pen/pencil/whatever that's closest.

His memory is... selective, at best. He can recall entire scenes from movies at a moment's notice, but when it comes to important things like birthdays or anniversaries, he forgets 90% of the time. His self esteem isn't the best, and he has a tendency to blame himself for things that aren't his fault, even if they were beyond his control. His greatest fear is being alone.

He's loyal to a fault. If you have Dario as a friend, he'll be your friend til the end of time. He also tries really hard to make his friends happy, and will do anything just to get them to smile. He hates letting people down, so he tries his hardest to avoid that at all costs. He's a bit like an eager puppy, and does pout like one if you scold him. It's adorable, in a really pathetic way.

He came through the Rift while searching for popcorn and is at sort of hoping he some how landed in a movie.
